Who We Are
The Team

Rian Bowden, CEORian’s the man in charge… or so we let him think. He’s got some impressive experience in web 2.0 business and Internet marketing. He’s worked all around the world, and last year he came back from Shanghai where he spent a year with one of the most successful podcasting companies on the net, ChinesePod. He’s since finished his BCom in Entrepreneurship at the University of Victoria, authored a section of a textbook on online marketing, and started a couple of award winning ventures, DailySplice being the shining star. His sentences usually begin with “Ummmm…” followed by “I’ve got a challenge for you…” or “we need to…” but if you give him candy he’ll sit quietly contented in his corner (for a while). |

Lewis Sobotkiewicz, CTOLewis is actually the brains behind DailySplice (just don’t tell Rian). He’s one of the geekiest guys around when it comes to stuff like system design, software development, and software project management. Like most geeks, he’s learned most of what he knows in a small room lit only by a half dozen computer screens. He’s also had a ton of experience in companies large and small designing and implementing automated test generation tools, web interoperability applications, and networked systems. One day (when he retires from DailySplice) he’ll finish off the last few pages of his thesis and get his M.Sc in Computer Science from the University of Victoria. Until then, if you think of Lewis at any point of any day you can rest assured he will be thinking of you too while he cooks up the latest new feature at DailySplice. |

I like chinese food, long walks on the beach, and… Rian: Ummm… Tom. This isn’t a dating site. Tom: Okay, okay… I am Tom. If you are a female interested in… Rian: [Holding a baseball bat and waiting] Tom: …interested in podcasting, please drop me a line. |

Debbie Yu, Software DeveloperDebbie is a fourth year Computer Science student at UVic and she claims to be the only normal person on the DailySplice team. (Debbie: Oops!! Did I just say they are podcast freaks!?) She also holds a degree in Accounting. (Debbie: Uh… What is Cash Flow Statement!?) Debbie is behind a lot of the pleasantries around the site and in the office and if it wasn’t for her the boys would be constantly in trouble for forgetting people’s birthdays or other holidays. But once you see what she can do on a computer you will know she is just another geek like the rest of us. |
