MPULSE ADVANCES TO SEMIFINALS IN CANADA-WIDE COMPETITION

Victoria Web Entrepreneurs go to regional finals for Enterprize 2008 in Vancouver

Victoria BC, January 10, 2008 - After winning Gold and taking home $15,000 in a local business plan competition, mPulse is now on its way to the regional finals for Enterprize, Canada’s biggest business plan competition. The startup web company began as a student project in the UVic Business program, and has since moved from academia to the real world but continues to make waves in the business plan competition arena. Moving into the semi finals in Enterprize means the tech company submitted one of the top 10 business plans in BC and Alberta.

mPulse co-founders Lewis Sobotkiewicz and Rian Bowden will be attending the two day event at SFU on January 18th and 19th, where they will participate in workshops, attend keynote speeches, and present their business pitch to a panel of judges. If mPulse advances, they will present at the national level on January 31.

“Advancing in these competitions is great regardless of whether we win or lose because we get to make a lot of connections and get noticed by people who help us along the way” says Bowden. The company is currently actively seeking Angel financing.

The company is also hosting the mPulse Innovation and Design competition to be held at UVic on March 17, 2007. The competition offers $2000 in prizes to computer science students who come up with the best solutions to their challenge, which can be found at challenge.mpulse.ca
