A PODCAST DIRECTORY BUILT TO SET STANDARDS

DailySplice opens unique podcast directory with features not found anywhere else

Victoria BC, January 30, 2008 -DailySplice made its first public move today in its mission to change the way people create and consume media online. The company has opened up a section of its website to the public which has unique features that are designed to make podcasts, a nascent form of online media, more accessible and manageable to users.

DailySplice believes that the key to bringing podcasting to the mainstream is to introduce structure and predictability similar to traditional media formats such as radio. To do this, they believe the first step is to understand the publishing habits of podcasters. That’s why in the DailySplice directory, a user is actually able to see the publishing schedule of any podcast.

“Podcasters aren’t bound by set publishing schedules, they can publish new episodes whenever they want.” says Lewis Sobotkiewicz, the company’s CTO. “DailySplice directory analyzes a podcaster’s publishing habits and predicts when new episodes will be produced. This will help structure and normalize podcast consumption.”

While the world explores the DailySplice podcast directory, a few users are building “Splices”, personalized radio programs out of their favourite podcasts. Publishing habits become important for these users, and DailySplice intends that by highlighting publishing information, standard habits will start to emerge that will help shape the industry into something that can rival traditional radio. The Company has already been contacted by members of the community, such as the Saanich Police who are interested in ways this might work their communication initiatives.

DailySplice’s mission is to modernize radio by creating customized radio-style programs that are delivered daily to your computer in an iPod or mobile phone ready format. You can quickly find personalized content from a library of thousands of podcasts and then build a program template, or “Splice,” that you can listen to on demand as a part of your personal routine. The service is in an invite-only test phase, but its directory and search engine features are open to all users at dailysplice.com
